You and I

We think differently you and I,
for all the things that matter...
I think that we are worlds apart,
And you say that's for the better.

Like most I think in logical lines
While on edges you skip the rope,
You say I worry ahead of times
But that's just how I cope.

I tiptoe around weighing rights and wrong
You run amok, chasing dreams
overriding my doubts, hesitations and worries,
Trusting everyone is how they seem.

I would be cross and stand by watching
As your naive choices make you choke,
But bear not could I, the laments of the soul
The time when last you broke.

So I tag along playing the villain,
In the love stories of life gone awry
For you may turn blind, as love often does,
I have seen much worse and scary.

For I may not play the field,
But love can even be my domain.
As every little spark you feel, O heart,
Is engraved forever in me, your Brain.

The Mask

A time did come, once upon,
She wore a mask, just to move on.
Hiding her tears of despair;
Days went by, but the mask stayed there.

Her mask so perfect,
All smiles, no scars.
To others, so bright, so fair…
And in this self, she went so far,
She forgot the mask was even there.

With the mask though came, a persona of its own...
Of porcelain skin, an aura of stone.
Falling in line, true feelings unknown,
Admired by many and yet so alone.

And finally, one day, when she faced the mirror,
A stranger’s face stared back at her in terror.
In vain she tried, the mask didn’t peel,
Clinging to her skin, with claws of steel.

She and her mask, were now a pair,
Like Yin and Yang, both fighting to be there.
Distant and wary, but still willing to care,
Wading through the ugly masks, people intentionally wear.

Wishes...

Wishes we throw at the stars at night,
As the clueless child our heart mimics...
And a child it is, until it breaks,
By an adverse turn of fate.

Wishes we throw at the stars sometimes,
For faraway dreams that have lost our sight...
And dreams they are , until we wake
For we give them up for somebody's sake.

Wishes we throw at the stars in the night,
For the cherished ones who drifted away...
And as memories they are, forever missed
Close to our hearts, when not in our midst.

Wishes we throw at the stars so often,
For skies now weep, with their hopeful burden...
And hopes they are, that trickle as the rain,
Or down ones cheek, breaking all restraint.

Wishes we throw at the stars at night,
For the shadows in time, will soon be gone...
And shadows they are, until there's light,
When we open our eyes to a beautiful new dawn.

A Women's day appeal...

Respect me, if you will…

But not just for today.

Cherish me, if you will…

But not just for a day.

Care for me, if you will…

On any ordinary day.

Protect me, if you will…

That you threaten me in no way.

Promise me, if you will

That you will let me fly

Assure me, if you will

That you won’t let my dreams die.

Sing me no godly praises,

I am but a mere human.

Expect not sacrifices,

Just because I am a woman.

Be an equal, be my friend

My companion along the way

Such that each day in my life

Turns into a Happy Woman's day!

And here they met again...

And here they met again…
Years having gone by,
The grey streaks in his brown hair,
Her lovely crinkled eyes.

And here they met again…
Passing through corridors like before,
Where the eyes had first met,
Smiles, which once made their hearts, soar.

And here they sat again…
Just across from each other,
Two different people, and yet so same…
Each led by the arms of another.

And here they spoke again…
Words few, but eyes said more...
Yet many things left unsaid,
Just like before.

And here they parted again…
Awkward handshakes, left in a rush.
Each convincing their heart again…
It was just a silly crush.

CREED OF lOVE

Page copy protected against web site content infringement by Copyscape

I dedicate this poem to all the Romeo's n Juliet's of the world who strive for a happy ending unlike the great Shakespearean Tragedy!!

The time has come,
though sooner than we thought;
To defend the love, for which we fought.
The world knows, and is angry no doubt...
But we'll just hope things will sort out.

They keep telling me to forget you.
like you be some night's bad dream.
They keep yelling,"It can't come true"
As if to a child with a silly whim...

I whine, I cry, they pay no heed...
When I say,"love has no caste and creed".
They state 'our worlds are far apart',
Yet we are one, mind, soul and heart!!

I can do none, but wait and weep...
your face slowly fading, as I drop off to sleep.
As tears blind me with the depths of my sorrow,
Without you I know, there is no tomorrow...

To strangle my love, with a trembling hand
and walk the alter, with whomsoever they may send...
Or to end my life, I truly ain't so brave...
One name etched in my heart, I shall carry to my grave

I wish they'd see beyond , the shackles of society ,
And care not for once, we pray to which deity.
For we are worshipers of love and oneness,
A religion if at all, is created by the almighty!!!
